EMPLOYMENT:  DPW, POLICE DEPT., TRANSFER STATION

DEPT OF PUBLIC WORKS - The Town is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic. This is a full time position. Successful candidate will be required to supply their own basic tools to use in the repair of all municipal vehicles and motorized equipment. A valid class B CDL is required. Overtime will be mandatory. This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol pre-employment and random testing.

This is skilled work in the repair and maintenance of a variety of public vehicles and equipment including automobiles, light and heavy trucks and all other special and standard Public Works equipment and attachments (including Police, Fire and Rescue vehicles).

FREEPORT POLICE DEPARTMENT - Seasonal Parking Enforcement
The Freeport Police Department is seeking personnel for parking enforcement. The job requires walking, an ability to work with the public, and working in all types of weather. Parking enforcement personnel work from 10 am to 5 pm seven days a week, dividing the work days between two or three people. They enforce parking in the downtown village area of Freeport. FREEPORT TRANSFER STATION - FILL-IN ATTENDANT
The Town of Freeport has an opening for a back up Transfer Station Attendant. This position would be available to fill in for vacations and sick days. Job involves assisting the public with their trash/recyclable material and sorting this material. Manual labor, frequent lifting and bending are all part of the job. No experience is necessary. Skid steer/forklift experience and computer experience a plus. Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Maine Drivers License. High School diploma or equivalent required.

This position is not benefit eligible. Pay is $12 per hour.
Ideal candidate will:
• Want to work in a fast paced, team environment
• Be able to work outdoors in all types of weather (20% inside/80% outside)
• Have interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
• Be able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand for an 8 hour shift
• Have a positive attitude
