AARP will once again be providing free Tax Preparation assistance for low-moderate income households, with special attention to those 60 years and older at the Freeport Community Center. The AARP volunteers will be available beginning on Wednesday February 7th through Wednesday April 11th. Assistance is available by appointment only and appointments will be available on Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, beginning the week of January 25th you can call 865-4743 x100 and leave a message requesting an appointment. A volunteer will return calls once a week beginning January 25th.
Please bring the following with you when you come to your appointment:
copy of last year's income tax returns;
W-2 forms from each employer;
unemployment compensation statements;
SSA-1099 form if you were paid Social Security Benefits;
all 1099 forms showing interest and/or dividends and documentation showing original purchase price of sold assets;
1099-R form if you received a pension or annuity;
all forms indicating federal income tax paid;
dependent care provider information
all receipts or canceled checks if itemizing deductions;
social security cards or other official documentation for yourself and all dependents
