TAX BILLS AND ASSESSMENTS QUESTIONS

Q. When are tax bills due?
A. Bills are payable in two parts, the first half by November 15 and the second half by May 15.

Q. Does the Town of Freeport accept Visa, Mastercard or debit cards?
A. We currently do not have the technology in place to facilitate these types of transactions. Personal checks are accepted.

Q. What is the current valuation on my property?
A. Your valuation may be found on your tax bill.

Q. Am I getting all the exemptions that are possible for me?
A. Your current exemptions are on your tax bill. Check the Assessing Department webpage for the exemptions that are available to see if you qualify.

Q. How many taxes do commercial properties pay?
A. Commercial properties pay about 29% of the property taxes, and constitute approximately 8% of the properties in town.
