Codes Enforcement Overview

The Freeport Codes Enforcement Officer is responsible for the permitting and enforcement of all land use and construction activities, pursuant to ordinances and codes adopted by the Town, as well as relevant State law. A summary of the specific duties of the Codes Enforcement Officer can found here.

Applying for a Building Permit

Many construction activities in Freeport require a permit. Please look at the list of permit forms (above left) and fill out the one(s) that apply to your activity. Many projects require more than one form, and some of the above links give guidance on how to best fill out the applications.
