Library
The Freeport Community Library is supported by the taxpayers of Freeport. Freeport residents and/or property owners are eligible for a free library card. Library cards can be obtained in person during regular library hours and are valid for one year.

Schools in Freeport (RSU#5)
Public schools in Freeport are administered by Regional School Unit (RSU) #5, which is an independent regional government, separate from the Town government. In addition to Freeport, the neighboring towns of Durham and Pownal are also members of RSU#5.

The town clerk's office has four major functions: Elections, Vital Records, Licensing and Keeper of Town Council, and Board/Committee minutes.

Town Manager
According to Freeport's Charter, the Town Manager is appointed by the Town Council, and serves as the administrative head of all Town departments.
